Enjoy this yummy pizza made with a masa harina flatbread instead of normal pizza crust for a south-of-the-border twist!

First, make your crust.

Follow the directions on the masa bag to make enough to fill your pan of choice. We had a 12×12 square sheet, so we used 3 c of masa to 3/4 c water for this one.

Smear a small amount of lard in the bottom of the pan, a little lard on top of the crust, and parbake in a 350ยบ oven.

Once the edges are brown and crust is crispy, flip the crust over and start assembling the taco layers, beginning with the refried beans. Follow with taco sauce, meat, half the tomatoes, half the onions, and meat, if you’d like. (We went veggie… except for the lard. Ha!) Cover with the shredded cheese and throw back in the oven until the cheese melts.

Once the cheese is melted, finish with taco toppings.

Guac…

…sour cream, tomatoes…

…lettuce and black olives, cilantro, and chilis… whatever you’d like!

Cut and serve with salsa, more guac, and sour cream.

That’s it! Try it and let us know what you think!
